The Magic Academy is devoted to the advancement of Magic in Australia.
Based in Sydney, The Magic Academy was established in 2006 to recognise contributions to the art of magic in Australia, to promote professional, talented and ethical magicians and to assist aspiring amateur magicians in learning magic and developing professional careers in magic.
In 2009, President of the Magic Academy and Sydney Magician James Karp devised a school holiday activities program in Sydney. At these Sydney Magic Camps children are taught magic with the premise that learning magic creates skills, fun and a positive self esteem. Not only do the children experience Sydney’s finest magicians entertaining them, but they are also trained by these masters of magic. The magicians teach kids magic in a most stimulating and inspiring manner. ‘I have had many parents give me fantastic feedback about the magic camps and am continuously being told that they have been the most fun, confidence building and unique kids school holiday activity their child has attended’ says Karp. The Sydney school holiday Magic Camp program is also great value for money with kids being entertained, educated and given magic tricks to take home. There is also an on site magic shop allowing children access to more tricks and giving them the opportunity to practise and keep developing their magic skills and repertoire.
